Location

Mueller Preserve, 370 Round Hill Road, Greenwich 06831

Date & Time

September 30, 1-2pm

Thomas Rainer is a horticulture futurist fascinated by the intesection of wild plants and human culture.  A landscape architect by profession and gardener by obsession, Thomas has worked on projects such as the U.S. Capitol grounds, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial and the New York Botanical Garden, but is happiest puttering in his small garden in Washington, DC.

As climate change and mass extinctions reshape our environment, traditional horticulture falls short - too carbon-intensive, too resource-heavy and too high-maintenance, according to Rainer.

In this visionary lecture, you will discover how to create thriving plant systems that mimic nature's aesthetics and resilience, transforming wild inspirations into sophisticated, biodiverse landscapes.

Purchase tickets to the lecture and/or pre-purchase his book, "Planting in a Post-Wild World".  Note that books must be picked up at GLT; shipping is not available.
